The Shoreline of Time

We are children at play in The Shoreline of Time,

Making structures with the shifting  sands,

Trying vainly (and playfully),

to make fixations in Eternity’s loyal ebbing and flowing.

The shoreline, where land meets water,

is where form meets flow.

Here is the beautifully paradoxical place,

where all humans dwell,

Here is the source of our dynamic tension,

—the stage of the “Grand Human Drama”.

This is a tension and drama that could only come out of the desire

to make something stay,

to make something last…

In an ever creating-disintegrating-transforming-creating,

shapeshifting reality.

By swells of joy and pain, it propels us into existence-adventures;

attachments and strivings, losses and gains, faith and fear.

Form, Flow,

Form, Flow,

Form, Flow.

Is it form?

Is it flow?

Yes.

No.

We live in Irony by the Sea,

between/within form and flow,

playing, enthralled, on The Shoreline of Time.
